As a sound designer and audio engineer, Mitchell combines theatrical expertise with professional live event experience. Currently pursuing Sound Design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) while working as an Audio Intern at Special Event Services, Mitchell brings 8+ years of hands-on audio production experience.
Mitchell specializes in immersive soundscapes for theatrical productions, Dante audio networking, RF coordination, and live event audio systems. Holding his CTS certification, OSHA 30, Dante Level 2, and Wireless Workbench Level 3 credentials, Mitchell combines artistic vision with technical precision.
Proficient in QLab, Pro Tools, L-ISA, Allen & Heath systems, and audio over ip networking, Mitchell excels in both creative sound design and technical system implementation.
Mitchell has worked extensively with QLab Pro Tools and L-isa to create immersive aural landscapes and vocal FX for shows. His proficiency in Pro Tools extends to recording and refining live productions, showcasing a meticulous approach to ensuring high-quality audio. Mitchell was a part of the Grammy Recording Camp mentored by Yáng Tan learning about the complex world of studio recording. Because of this inspiration, Mitchell has started working with a local artist and a team of musicians to produce and mix a country album.
Mitchell also works with Dante Systems regularly and holds a level 2 certification attesting to his deep knowledge in large-scale system design and upkeep. This allows Mitchell to stay tuned in to a wide range of digital audio systems and their deployment into venues.
Mitchell has spent the past few months working on 3D sound designs that involve complex aural landscapes to help create an atmosphere in the room, along with helping to tell the story beyond the visual. He utilizes L-ISA and Pro tools to integrate vocal FX into the surround sound speakers and all the pre-recorded sounds that play through Q-labs. This allows flexibility to whatever the director wants, and what fits the show and the scene's atmosphere.
Mitchell has started to work on the recording side of audio with tools such as Pro Tools, Waves, Sound Toys, and Avid plugins. Along with the software Mitchell has worked with many interfaces for recording such as Neve, Allen & Heath, Apollo, and Focusrite. Mitchell currently has a country EP in the works with local Colorado artists. The EP is expected to be released in January of 2025. Below are a few songs that Mitchell worked to record and mix.

This song was also mixed by Mitchell at the 2024 GRAMMY music camp. This song was written and produced with a greater airy and grungy feeling. The 480L reverb unit was pushed on the vocal bus to match the artist's vision. This song brought together many engineers in the camp to continue to add ideas as the week went on to improve the sound. This song used a tube microphone for lead and backup VOX to achieve better frequency response in the high mid-end area.
